HEY LANEY: Me, as a parent. →
heylaney: In bullet form. Because me, as a parent, has very limited typing time: It’s much more intuitive than I thought it would be. I’m a “go to the information” type person but all those books I bought? Those posts and articles I bookmarked? They’re gathering literal and figurative dust. Once you…

Rick Perry's latest campaign video →
elle-oh-elle: gnomesweetgnome: No seriously. Everyone should go on over to YouTube and flag this video as promoting hatred of homosexuals. I did. Go now. Done.

Bruce Hamilton, Organ Donation Hero →
twotravellers: This week Bruce passed away from a brain hemorrhage in Canakkale Turkey. He was having the holiday of a lifetime and was able to have his family with him here in Turkey at the end. As a final act of thanks, as per Dad’s wishes, we have offered his organs to be donated.  The linked story shows how, even in death Dad is as generous as he was in life. xx

Top 10 Myths about Introverts →
94monkeys: devaluedandcorrupted: Myth #1 – Introverts don’t like to talk. This is not true. Introverts just don’t talk unless they have something to say. They hate small talk. Get an introvert talking about something they are interested in, and they won’t shut up for days. Myth #2 – Introverts are shy. Shyness has nothing to do with being an Introvert. Introverts are not necessarily afraid of...

How to be remembered
Her: Do I know you?
Me: Yeah - did we go to school together?
Her: Yes! I just saw your face and suddenly had a flash of you wearing this white sheet in a church and you fainted and fell over!!
Seriously. THAT's what you remember?

i deserve a partner who thinks i hung the moon. i deserve to think my partner is incorrect, since he is actually the one who hung the moon. i deserve to be with someone who wants to hold my hand as often as possible. i deserve to be with someone who will take out the trash because it is my…

Factors that you may need to consider before answering: It was a BRAND NEW toothbrush And it was a fancy pants toothbrush. The tips were all purple and the handle was all ergonomically shaped and all that jazz. It represented a tooth brushing investment. It fell bristle side up! And there’s no more toothbrushes in the cupboard. If it were my mum’s house, she would have a stash of...

Procrastibation
It’s incredible the lengths that I will go to to avoid studying. Understandably, others resort to Adults Only you tube. And it’s true, those words don’t rhyme for nothing. But today my porn of choice is food. Instead of writing 2000 words, I have made (and eaten) a pot of persimmon jam, put a tray of ripe tomato halves on to slow bake, and tamed veal shanks into osso bucco. I...

Mining for stars
EPISODE TWO It’s been a while since the last episode, so life must be pretty damn good. On rainy mid-week nights, when you are feeling just a little inexplicably shit, a few things stand out to warm the soul: Riding home at dusk, behind a golden sunset, and hitting the steps of home just before the storm arrives Ice cold soda stream – no flavours please, (although we have those too). The soda...
